  • WHAT IS BRISTOL house of music?

Bristol House of Music is a home style school in Bristol, UK. We teach one-to-one private music lessons. Head to our home page which has links to all of the lessons. 

 

  • WHAT STANDARD DO I HAVE TO BE TO TAKE LESSONS?

Everyone is welcome, whether you haven't ever picked up a guitar, or you have playing for years and need some direction. We can cater for anyone!

 

  • WHAT AGES DO YOU TEACH?

We teach all ages from 5 upwards.

 

  • WHERE ARE THE LESSONS HELD?

Lessons are held in our well equipped rooms located in Bristol, UK - Grittleton Road, BS7 OXD, right next to Southmead Hospital (check out our classroom page). Skype lessons can happen from anywhere in the world!

 

 

 

  • Is there anywhere to store my bike?

We are bike friendly at Bristol House of Music, you can bring your bike into the house so it is safe during the lesson.

 

  • WHEN DO YOU TEACH?

We teach 6 days a week! Monday-Saturday, from 10am to 10pm. Lessons are flexible to the student and the tutor. We understand that everyone's schedule changes, so you will work together with your tutor to find the best time for you! 

 

  • HOW MUCH ARE LESSONS AND HOW DO I PAY?

All lessons are £20 per hour, however you can have 30 minutes for £10 or 45 minutes for £15 etc. Payment can either be by cash, cheque or bank transfer (we are also set up with Paym so you can pay using your mobile).

 

  • DO YOU TEACH VIA SKYPE?

YES! We currently teach Guitar, Bass, Ukulele & Songwriting over Skype. Head over to our Skype Lessons page to read more about having lessons on Skype.

 

  • WHAT IF I MISS A LESSON?

It is important to let us know as soon as you are aware that you can't make a lesson. It is sometimes possible to rearrange for a different day, however we are busy so please try and make your set lesson time. A full lesson charge is applicable if you cancel a lesson last minute or if you don’t let your teacher know.

 

  • DO I NEED MY OWN INSTRUMENT?

It's always a good idea to have your own instrument so you can practice the material given to you in the lessons. For guitar, bass and ukulele lessons it is best to bring your own along, but for piano, songwriting and theory lessons all is provided. For help with buying your first instrument your teacher will be more than happy to help!

 

  • DO I NEED AN AMP?

No! We have all the equipment you would ever need! Check out the classroom for more info!

 

  • Where can I wait for my child?

You're more than welcome to come into the house and sit down while your child has their lesson, enjoy a nice coffee and the free wifi. Alternatively we aren't far away from local amenities if you want to do some shopping or pop to a cafe!

 

  • DO YOU DO GIFT CARDS?
